Just what is it that makes for a top model? It can’t just be about looks, we can all be made up to look like a model. Is it the attitude of the model? Is it the relationship that is developed between the photographer and the model? Is it a mix of all of the above, or have we missed something?
Gisele Bundchen is the current number one earning model in the world with an estimated income of around twenty five million dollars in the last year. This outstrips Heidi Klum on only sixteen million dollars and Kate Moss on nine million dollars for the last year. Figures are estimated and are reported in full on Forbes.com. These are the same three models that topped the list last year as well.
It is assumed that the top companies and advertising agencies are no longer willing to risk taking on new models for there advertising campaigns during the global economic crisis. With the markets full of uncertainty we are all relieved to see our favorite models in action with our favorite products.
We are know all familiar with the term Top Model, which seems to have replaced the term Supermodel. Supermodels are from the 1990′s. They are household names like Cindy Crawford, Elle McPhearson, and Linda Evangelista. These women blazed their way into the daily conversations of both women and men. They are names that have become bigger than any product or campaign.
Some would say that models on the fashion runways are at the top of their career tier. It is however the models that have appeared in television that have become the most well known of all. A fashion model is at the top of their career, but the models who are best known of all are the ones we see everyday. Models who truly make it the modeling business are those who are versatile enough to be a high fashion model and appear on television, and in the print media and there are even some who are talented enough to go onto a film or television career.
